Fab seasonal offerings, tarts, breakfast breads.
Horizon's is a local conference facility. Their desserts were so superb that people demanded that they open a retail outlet.
They usually have scones, crioissants, artisanal breaks (my fav: olive oil and rosemary), house-made chocolates, fruit tarts, muffins (including carrot-nut, pistachio, banana walnut, and many more), cookies, etc. They open at 7 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. most weekdays. Go early to get the breakfast breads - they sell out quickly (almond croissants...ooooooohhh!).
Lattes, cappucinos, some gourmet dips and snack foods from Robert Rothchild, etc. Great display of pastry chefs at work in front glass window, too!
Easy to reach from Bay Road at NW corner of Weiss.
Pastries, cakes, chocolates, tarts, croissants, all house-made by professionals.
Offerings rival the finest in Ann Arbor or major cities. Horizon's pastry chefs use only the finest ingredients. Try the almond-filled croissants, or the little fruit tartlets shining with a clear glaze. You can get coffees or cappucinos, too. Unusual offerings in cake flavors and pastries. Have never had anything we didn't like or that was stale or cheap tasting. We can tell - real cream, real butter, and real care are used in everything. This place came about because the chefs at Horizon's Conference center out on State Street got so many calls for their desserts.
Go early for a good selection!
