Great All Around. We've been patronizing Spencers for 4+ years. We've had great service, great food and have always enjoyed the entertainment. It's a classy place without paying classy prices.

Great food, great service, great owner!. We have been to Spencer's for lunch and dinner mayn times over the years for both smaller, intimate dinners and and large family gatherings. We are never disappointed with the food - always had great meals. Service is always top notch, and the owner has never, ever failed to personally stop by our table no matter how busy the restaurant. It is a favorite spot, and one my family from the San Francisco Bay area always makes it to whenever they are in town.

Watch your credit card statement. We ate at Spencer's and charged it on our credit card. When we got our credit card statement Spencer had added another 5.00 dollars on it..We called our credit card company and let them handle it.It took almost 3 month's,but we were reinbursed the full amount of the bill. All I can say it keep your receipt and check your statement's..Needless to say we won't go back ther..

ITs a really nice place to go that isn't the normal chain!!!!. I went here with my finance to have our parents meet. The atmosphere was great, the food was awesome and the waitstaff was very attentive. I went shortly there after with friends from out of town...they live in East LAnsing and Detroit and they said they throughly enjoyed the atmostphere...never thought someplace like this existed in Saginaw. The owner is present in the restaurant and the jazz music was very nice touch. Its a sport bar theme with the tv's and bar in middle of the restaurant but it also has an upclass feel. I would recommend this place to everyone!!!!

Food average, owner rude. Restaurant is now Spencers Rte. 46. It is no longer an italian restaurant, menu on website is no longer available. Mentioned to owner that we missed the italian dishes. He very rudely told us that there were going to be changes at spencers. He argued that the lunch menu was the same although it obviously was not (sign outside advertised change is lunch menu). Will not go back to his establishment. Food not worth being treated poorly.

bad atmosphere, SMOKY bar area, and "Spencer" not so nice. First off, the food is okay. Not great, not original, but okay. Second, the atmosphere is totally wrong. Not planned out well at all. And the enormous amount of cigarette smoke from the bar area is overpowering, even

in the farthest corner of the dining area. Last time I was there, the waitress charged us 2X the liquor amount.

It took 3 phone calls (no one returned our call), and than a face to face with Spencer himself. He wanted to

"reimburse" us with a gift certificate for the same amount. AS IF. I would never spend another dime there.

Great food, service, and good ambience. A very unassuming, almost unnoticed restaurant that sits back some from the road and can easily be overlooked. What a mistake if it is! One of our favorite places to go for dinner (haven't tried lunch). The food is great, with a menu that changes frequently. Spencer is always present, visible, and truly friendly. He is very involved in his restaurant, and wants only the best - he has refused deliveries of food when he wasn't happy with their freshness. We are comfortable whether coming from work, dressed for an evening out, or in jeans. The music on the weekends is wonderful, although it is difficult to sit in the bar area as the acoustics make it quite loud in that area. The staff are friendly without being condescending, and on top of things. The dining room is very open, and some breaking up of this space would be conducive and preferred. But the food and the service are what we go for and we have never been disappointed.

Ambiance of dining room is really bad but food is very competent. I didn't say "inspired" food, but competent. Nothing thrilling in either the ordinary selection of offerings or in their presentation.

We don't go here any more after about 4 visits. The food rates going back, but the dining room just plain feels weird. It's too open. Ceiling too high, a little too much space between the tables, but a weird feeling of no privacy, too. There are no dividers between tables, and the fireplace and its comfy seats are stuck onto the end of the room and stick out into the dining area. We tried hard to explain too each other why dining there felt so weird but never could. Guess it's just that the room is too big, there are too many tables, and just plain floor between them.

In town for business. A colleague and I had dinner on Saturday night, 11/19/05 around 6:30pm. I was impressed initially with the politeness and professionalism of the hostess and our bar waiter. We waited about 10 minutes in the bar area for our dining area table and ordered cocktails. My vodka martini was awesome. Our waitress in the dining area was very friendly. The escargot appetizer was very tasty. - the only improvement would be thinly slice garlic bread points to accompany. I really enjoyed the beef tips and my colleague enjoyed one of the steaks. The only negative would be the delay between the appetizer and meal. Additionally, the dining area is very spacious and I'd like to see the area broken up into smaller more intimate spaces.

My favorite spot in the Tri Cities. My wife and I have gone to "Spencer's" for over 15 years, back to the days when Spencer was co-owner of Mariano's Ristorante on Bay Road. The food is outstanding (my favorite is the pasta dishes), and the service is good. Spencer Dambro is the best proprietor I've ever seen, taking time to check with each guest, to make sure their meal is satisfactory. We have children ranging in age from 4 - 11, and feel quite welcome, despite a clientele that tends to be older in nature.
