I'm not sure what the rave reviews are all about but I was disappointed. I thought the portions were skimpy for the price and just OK quality wise. As far as deli's go this place is unimaginative and run of the mill. The soup is your standard restaurant supply quality and not homemade as one would expect. I paid over $8 for what what amounted to a half-sub sandwich that was heavy on the bread and skimpy on the meat and a 12 oz portion of soup - and it didn't include a drink or pickle. What's a pastrami or corned beef sandwich without a pickle? I tried this place twice and definitely wouldn't go back.

There are better choices in Saginaw if you want the real thing. Frallias and Intermission Deli come to mind and no I don't work there or know the owners.

Cannot be beat

Cardinal Deli is an excellent establishment. Its run by a couple of younger guys who are very friendly and accomidating. I have ate there too many times to count for a simple reason: its GOOD. The sandwhiches/subs they make put subway and quiznos to shame in quality and value. They are reasonable priced, service is fast and friendly, and they will cater business's or whatever. This place is well worth a few bucks to give it a try. I would eat there everyday if i could. Also the guys are cardinal deli have rearranged the seating area and geared up for 15 big guys in only a couple hours notice....service in that scenario was superb as well. Give it a try, i haven't met anyone yet who has tried and DOESN'T love good 'ol Cardinal Deli.

other saginaw favorites include: Tony's, Los Cuatros Amigos

p.s. there side are excellent like potato salad, pasta salads, soups etc. Also they always have combo deals going on (sandwhich/chips/drink)

• Pros: the Cardinal Deli guys support svsu athletics so you will see schedules and excellent photo's all over....just an added plus to the atmosphere if u attend SVSU
• Cons: they are not part of SV campus meal-plans

Best sandwiches and subs for an awesome price.

They're not like most sub places that throw together a bland tasting sub and then smother it with dressing. Each layer of their sub/sandwich is full of flavor. Their sandwiches are loaded and they DO NOT get stingy with the meat like other places do. You will get more than your money's worth there. They also have sides and drinks to choose from, so make your sandwich a combo meal. Another plus is that they cater, and also deliver to saginaw businesses. Which is how I know about how wonderful their food is, my place of work orders from Cardinal Deli almost every day!

• Pros: Great food for a good price. Get your stuff to go, or call ahead ordering.
• Cons: Not a lot of dining room, college atmosphere. Limited seating.
